A night out in W1 that ends when you decide
This is the occasion Soho was built for. Three hours at £700 is the usual shape, four at £900 if dinner is inside it, and the whole night if you would rather not decide in advance. She meets you at your hotel or at the first bar, and from there the evening goes wherever it goes.
What you are booking is somebody who knows the streets well enough to steer without taking over. Which room is worth queueing for on a Thursday, which is better at midnight than at ten, and which door will politely not open tonight. How a Soho night spends three hours
Badly, if you plan it minute by minute. The version that works is two fixed points and nothing in between, a table booked somewhere at nine and a rough idea of where you would like to end up. Soho rewards walking. Almost everything worth reaching sits within eight minutes of Piccadilly Circus, and the pleasure of the place is turning down a street because the noise coming out of it sounded promising. If the night is still going at the third hour, extra time is agreed in the chat at the card rate.
Doors, and getting through them
Soho runs on membership and this house does not pretend otherwise. If you belong to one of the clubs, she comes in as your guest under the club's own rules, and she will follow them to the letter including whatever the house says about phones. The host cannot arrange membership, put a name on a list or get anybody past a door, and any agency claiming it can is selling a story. What she can do is know which of the unmembered rooms are genuinely good, and there are more of those than the members would like you to think.
Jazz, cabaret and the slower option
Not every night out is a late one. Ronnie Scott's on Frith Street still does the best slow evening in the postcode, two sets and a table in the dark, and it is the single easiest way to spend three hours without either of you working at it. The small cabaret rooms scattered around W1D are the other good answer, particularly if the alternative is shouting over a sound system. Chinatown at one in the morning
When the bars turn the lights up, the streets around Gerrard Street are still serving, and a late supper there is how a good many of these nights end. It is unglamorous in the best way, bright rooms, plastic menus and food that is considerably better than the lighting suggests. She will happily order for both of you if you have no idea what you want. This is also the cheapest possible way to make a three hour booking feel like a whole night out.
Names for a long night
Jasmin lives here, starts late and knows the doors. Roxi is twenty three, dark haired and genuinely good company at two in the morning. Luna brings dark auburn colour and a laugh that carries a table. Angelika is athletic and can walk Soho in heels for three hours without complaint, which is rarer than it sounds. Stacy at 176 cm makes an entrance. Milena is 175 cm and unhurried. Several sit in the early twenties group.
Getting home afterwards
She makes her own way home at the end and it is never your problem to solve, though most guests put her in a cab and nobody minds either way. If the night has drifted back towards your hotel and you would like the booking to continue there, that is agreed in the chat first like any other extension. Message the host from wherever you are. If the rest of her night is clear the extra hours are added at the card rate, agreed in the chat before they begin rather than settled afterwards.
One table, at most. Soho on a Friday rewards a single fixed point and an open evening around it, and the host will happily tell you which rooms need booking and which never do.
